Types of Elderly Care
Residential Elderly Care
Older people will often decide to live in a care home as they are finding it harder to manage on their own, or they need a little more help than their carer at home is able to provide. They may also be missing out on social interaction with others, which is why our residential care homes provide not only accommodation and meals, but also a wide range of social activities. Our staff are trained to also help with bathing, dressing and the administration of medication.
TLC Care Homes provide 24-hour support for older people who want to enjoy their life in a warm, homely and caring environment.
Nursing Elderly Care
Our nursing homes offer round the clock personal support and accommodation of a residential home with the added benefit of specialist care from qualified nurses.
Nursing care may be more suitable if you have an illness or a disability that requires frequent complex nursing attention.
Respite care and short breaks
As a carer, whether it is on full time basis, or from time to time, you may want to be able to take some time out and relax, knowing that your relative or friend is in a safe, welcoming environment with personalised care and support tailored to their needs. A short stay at one of our care or nursing care homes can give people the opportunity to experience a short break among friendly, welcoming staff and it’s also a chance to meet with other people we support as well.
Respite stays are always short term, however relationships that are built between the the home and client give great peace of mind to all involved, especially if you decide to extend the stay.
Respite care is also beneficial to people who have been in hospital and are fit enough to leave but not yet able to care for themselves back at home.
Dementia care
At TLC Group, most of our care homes specialise in caring for people living with the experience of dementia. Staff caring for the residents with dementia are specially trained to ensure that residents receive individual expert care and support, while respecting personal tastes, preferences, needs and requirements.
Convalescent care
Illness and surgery can place an enormous strain on the body. It is imperative that the quality of care received during the recovery process is to a very high standard. A good recovery can reduce the risk of complications and the chance of re-admittance.
TLC care homes provide short-term convalescent or post-operative care ranging from one to four weeks, depending on individual needs.
